All public parking within the Muwaileh commercial area in Sharjah is now charged throughout the week, including on public holidays, to handle the high demand for parking spots in this significant residential and commercial hub.
Blue directional signs have been set up by the Public Parking Management of Sharjah Municipality throughout the area to notify drivers about the new operating hours and fees. To ensure the efficient use of parking spaces, the municipality has introduced smart parking vehicles designed to monitor and penalize vehicles that either do not pay the required fees or exceed the ten-minute grace period.
The fines are set at Dh150 for non-payment of fees and Dh100 for exceeding the maximum allowed parking duration without payment. The implementation of paid parking throughout the week is due to the increased traffic in Muwaileh, influenced by its mix of residential and commercial activities.
