Sharjah is scheduled to initiate the UAE's inaugural Holy Quran TV channel on Friday, August 16. The channel will commence with a trial broadcast featuring religious content, including 'fresh and exclusive recitations' of verses from the holy book. Viewers will have access to continuous 24/7 Holy Quran recitations, including a daily khatmah broadcast by renowned reciters. (Khatmah denotes the recitation of the holy book from beginning to end.) Additionally, the channel will offer short educational programs that clarify religious concepts, making them more accessible to the public. The aim is to promote a correct understanding of the Holy Quran and present its interpretations in a manner that resonates with today's generation, according to authorities.

The Holy Quran Channel is the newest platform managed by the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA), established under the guidance of Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. Sheikh Dr Sultan's endorsement of this channel underscores its significance for the emirate, stated Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, director of the SBA. 'It also mirrors the Sharjah Ruler's dedication to disseminating the teachings of the Holy Quran and establishing a media platform that specializes in producing meaningful and inspiring religious content,' Al Ghaithi added. The emirate aims to set this channel as a benchmark for religious media outlets in the UAE and the Islamic world.

This platform will offer viewers specialized religious content focusing on khatmah and Quranic sciences programs, according to Khalifa Hassan Khalaf, director of the Holy Quran Channel and Radio. Launching a new channel under the slogan 'Be with God and you will see God with you' reinforces the SBA's position in the realm of 'purposeful media', Khalaf concluded.
