Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence of the UAE, met with the UFC lightweight champion in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and former world No.1 doubles player from India, Sania Mirza, during the ‘Dubai Sports Retreat.' The event took place at the Museum of the Future, under the theme ‘Dubai: The First Sports Destination.'

Sheikh Hamdan shared on X, "The Dubai Sports Retreat, held at the Museum of the Future, gathered 100 influential figures from around the world, including top sports personalities, showcasing Dubai's rising prominence as a global sports hub."

He continued, "I had the opportunity to meet Dubai’s sports ambassadors at the retreat—a remarkable group of Arab and international stars who have made Dubai their home. Their dedication to promoting sports and fostering talent is truly motivating. We extend our gratitude to all participants of the Dubai Sports Retreat, organized by @DubaiSC. The discussions and ideas shared at the event will contribute to a more promising future for sports, elevate our clubs' accomplishments, and support local talent development."

The event saw the participation of notable figures such as former France and Manchester United goalkeeper Fabien Barthez, Lebanese basketball star Fadi Al Khatib, and former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh.
