Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, conducted his inaugural visit to the Ministry of Defence after his recent Cabinet appointment.
Sheikh Hamdan's appointment as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE was endorsed by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and declared by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai. During his visit, Sheikh Hamdan was provided with a comprehensive overview of the ministry's operations, major initiatives, and its approach to various challenges. He also received information on the central duties of the Joint Operations Command room.
In a meeting with top officials of the Ministry and the UAE Armed Forces, Sheikh Hamdan expressed, "I am privileged to be part of this ministry, founded by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Their vision has steered the ministry's success over the years." He further added, "Under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ministry continues to exemplify global standards of organizational strength and efficiency. We are dedicated to protecting and advancing the nation's accomplishments and meeting the leadership's expectations."
Sheikh Hamdan also emphasized, "Safeguarding the Union and its unity is a solemn duty, and I am honored to contribute to this mission. We are profoundly thankful for all contributions that have significantly impacted our homeland security efforts." Addressing the commanders and officers of the Ministry of Defence and the UAE Armed Forces, he stated, "Today, I stand among you as a team member. I am proud to join this team and contribute to our nation's protection."
Sheikh Hamdan was greeted at the Ministry of Defence by Mohamed bin Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Defence Affairs; Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications; Lieutenant General Issa bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces; Major General Pilot Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces; Matar Salem Al Dhaheri, Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Defence; along with senior commanders and officers from the Ministry of Defence and the UAE Armed Forces.
