Sheraa’s pavilion at Expand North Star 2024 showcased 22 startups from various sectors, including creative industries, edtech, advanced manufacturing, and sustainability, in line with its newly established Centers of Excellence (CoE). As a pivotal part of GITEX Global, Expand North Star 2024 offered Sheraa an optimal platform to position itself as a key player in fostering a dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem in Sharjah. The event brought together a diverse group of startups, investors, and industry experts to promote innovation, knowledge sharing, and strategic partnerships.
Sara Abdelaziz Al Nuaimi, CEO of Sheraa, highlighted the significance of their participation at Expand North Star 2024, stating: “This event underscores Sheraa’s commitment to nurturing a supportive and growth-oriented community for startups. By creating an ecosystem that values collaboration and innovation, we not only help build impactful businesses but also lay the groundwork for sustainable economic growth in the region.”
During Expand North Star, Sheraa provided a unique platform for startups and founders to display the UAE’s burgeoning entrepreneurial landscape to a global audience. This allowed entrepreneurs to make new connections and expand their customer base. Eight startups, led by young entrepreneurs, were featured at the Sheraa Booth, with two startups rotating daily to ensure maximum visibility and engagement over the four-day event. Additionally, ten established startups, such as Alfredo Books, YHH, and Jalebi, received dedicated exposure at the Sheraa Startup Booths, enabling them to connect with investors and stakeholders while showcasing their innovative solutions.
Collaborating with Du, four standout ventures were also showcased at their pavilion, selected based on their alignment with Sheraa’s CoEs and their potential for scalability and impact. Strategic partnerships included the signing of an MoU with Homegrown CPG to support regional startups in the consumer products sector and an LoI with StartupTN from India to enhance inter-regional collaboration.
Through its active engagement, Sheraa is effectively enhancing the entrepreneurial landscape by fostering synergies among innovators, thought leaders, and investors, thereby solidifying Sharjah’s status as an emerging hub for entrepreneurship and innovation.
