Indian singer Shreya Ghoshal is eagerly anticipating her upcoming performance in Dubai, attributing her excitement to the audience she expects to see at the show. "It's been quite some time since I last performed a public concert in Dubai. Each time I visit, there's an immense level of enthusiasm. The energy is palpable, as the Dubai crowd is highly musical and vibrant," she shares.

Ghoshal, who will be performing songs like 'Agar Tum Mil Jao' on September 21 at the Trade Center Arena, mentions that since her previous concert in Dubai, she has accumulated a variety of songs she wishes to share with her fans. "There's a lot of magic in this particular tour; from our set list to our designs, everything about it is an experience that I'm confident audiences will adore," she says.

She further adds that she will be singing tracks such as 'Deewani Mastani' from the movie 'Bajirao Mastani', some indie tunes, and a few South Indian numbers. "So it's a diverse mix of various emotions and different kinds of songs. People will laugh, people will sing, people will cry, people will dance. That's the idea," she tells City Times.

The show has been in the making for a year, according to Ghoshal. "It began with our first US tour, which we conducted in 2023, and we kept adding cities due to the excitement people showed about the show. We have conceptualized the routine, but we continuously make changes to it. There are some additions, and sometimes the song list changes depending on the city and audience we are performing for. It's a very dynamic set, and we are thrilled about what's coming up next in Dubai. We are ensuring that our songs are from the best selection," she explains.

Ghoshal, a talented singer, first gained global recognition for her powerful vocals at the age of 16 when she won the Indian reality TV show 'Sa Re Ga Ma'. She had been training since she was six for the stage. "I started singing almost as a baby. When I was three or four years old, I began singing properly, but it was just for fun and play. No one knew it would turn into a profession, and music comes naturally to me. Music is my first love. It is the most soothing thing for me. It is a way of expression for me. It’s involuntary, like breathing," she laughs.

Since then, she has sung in numerous languages, even if she doesn't fully grasp the nuances of the lyrics. "When I record these songs, the process involves really learning what the song is about. Most of them are from films, so the director or composer comes and narrates the situation, telling me what the song is about. Once I get an overall feel, it’s okay. Once you know the overall emotion, music, I think, has no language. Music has its own language, which, once you get the conversation, you understand what the tune is, what the speed of the overall speed of the character or the song situation is, then you don't think too much about it," she explains.
