A blaze ravaged the historic village within Al Dhaid Fort during the early hours of Thursday, inflicting substantial harm to numerous stores, as per the Sharjah Civil Defence.

Colonel Sami Al Naqbi, the Director General of the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority, confirmed that the fire was effectively contained with no fatalities. The emergency operations center was notified of the fire in the customary market at 3:14am, and civil defence squads swiftly arrived at the scene. Firefighters efficiently controlled the fire, stopping it from reaching adjacent stalls.

Following the extinguishment of the fire, the area was transferred to the forensic laboratory for an extensive examination to ascertain the origin of the blaze.
