A little over a month ago, Konami and developer Bloober Team launched Silent Hill 2, a remake of the iconic survival-horror game that first appeared in 2001. One of the fresh elements added by Bloober Team is a collection of cryptic photographs scattered throughout the remake. Recently, a player has cracked the photo puzzle, revealing a nod to the game's own history.

Dale Robinson shared his discovery on Reddit, marking himself as the first to solve it. There are 26 of these photos in the game, each accompanied by a brief phrase. For instance, the initial photograph is labeled 'So many people here.' Robinson scrutinized the photos and deduced that the key to the code lay in the number of specific objects within each image. By identifying and counting these objects, Robinson found that each number corresponded to a letter in the message. When arranged in order, the message reads 'You've been here for two decades.'

'I thought I was going to get something exciting, but instead, the game reminded me that I'm an old man now,' Robinson posted on X. His solution was later verified by Bloober Team's creative director, Mateusz Lenart.

Silent Hill 2 is now available for PS5 and PC.
