Magic mirror, on the wall… what’s the latest classic animated Disney movie to get the live-action treatment? Yes, it’s Snow White! A new, full-length trailer has been released for the photo-real adaptation, featuring West Side Story and The Hunger Games star Rachel Zegler donning the iconic blue puff-sleeve corset and yellow skirt. Gal Gadot, known for her role as Wonder Woman, takes on the villainous role of the evil Queen.
This fresh take on Disney’s inaugural feature is directed by Marc Webb, known for The Amazing Spider-Man. From the trailer, it’s evident that the film is steeped in pure Disney fantasy, particularly in the enchanting woodland scenes. Audiences also get a sneak peek of Zegler’s remarkable singing voice, which will be showcased in Snow White’s classic songs, along with new compositions by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. The trailer also reveals more of the seven dwarves, whose CGI rendering sparked some online controversy with the previous trailer.
Will this retelling be the fairest of them all? Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, it’s off to the cinema we go to find out… Snow White is set to be released on 21 March, 2025.
