Solasta: Crown of the Magister is a remarkable video game adaptation of D&D's 5th Edition ruleset, infused with humor and charm long before Baldur's Gate 3. Now, developer Tactical Adventures is diligently working on a full sequel, Solasta 2, which PC players can explore in 2025.

Announced at The Game Awards 2024 and set to launch in early access on PC, Solasta 2 will challenge players to confront an "all-powerful being" named Shadwyn, voiced by Baldur's Gate 3 narrator Amelia Tyler. The game is set on the new continent of Neokos, described by creative director Mathieu Girard as brimming with "unprecedented lore."

If you're familiar with Baldur's Gate 3, you'll recognize many of the turn-based mechanics in Solasta 2. The developer emphasizes the "full depth" of the 5E system, similar to the first game, making it an excellent introduction to D&D mechanics, even though it's not part of the Wizards of the Coast universe.

Solasta 2 will offer an online cooperative mode for up to four players and full controller support, promising an experience comparable to mouse and keyboard. While the original game eventually made its way to consoles, Solasta 2 is currently focused on PC, with an early-access release planned for 2025 and a demo arriving sooner.
