South Korea's main opposition party announced on Wednesday that it plans to file insurrection charges against President Yoon Suk Yeol and several top security officials in response to his brief declaration of martial law. The Democratic Party stated in a press release that they will pursue charges against Yoon, along with his defense and interior ministers, as well as "key military and police figures," including the martial law commander and the police chief. The party further indicated its intention to initiate impeachment proceedings.
