Thousands of sports enthusiasts and families were treated to a breathtaking low-level flypast over the Sevens Stadium on Sunday, marking the 53rd UAE Eid Al Etihad. The flypast took place on the final day of the largest and longest-running sports and entertainment festival in the Middle East – Emirates Dubai 7s.
As the Emirates A380 soared through the skies to honor the crowd below, spectators captured videos and selfies from their vantage points. The Emirates A380, after taking off from Dubai International Airport, made its first pass over the stadium at 15:42hrs and returned at 15:47hrs, cruising at a leisurely pace and an altitude of just 500 feet. Commanding the Emirates A380 were UAE National Captain Khalid Binsultan and Captain Mubarak Al Mheiri, supported by Captain Abdalla Al Hammadi.
This memorable flypast with the signature aircraft underscores Emirates' dedication to the enduring Emirates Dubai 7s. Held during the UAE National Day weekend in December and hosted at The Sevens Stadium in Dubai, Emirates Dubai 7s continues the 54-year legacy of the iconic Rugby Sevens tournament, annually welcoming top international teams.
The 2024 edition of the Emirates Dubai 7s, which took place during the Eid al Etihad weekend from 29 November to 1 December, featured an impressive lineup of world-class international athletes, global artists, and a variety of hospitality experiences, alongside amateur rugby, netball, cricket, and fitness teams. Catering to a diverse audience, including families, sports fans, festival attendees, and music lovers, Emirates Dubai 7s offers a fun-filled weekend for everyone.
