Earlier this fall, Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton began discussions to direct Spider-Man 4, eventually finalizing his agreement with Sony and Marvel. Now, Tom Holland's next MCU Spider-Man film is slated for a 2026 release, almost five years after the premiere of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Spider-Man 4, which is still untitled, is set to hit theaters on July 24, 2026. This date is just over two months after the release of Avengers: Doomsday on May 1, 2026. Marvel and Sony have not yet confirmed if Holland will appear in both films, but it seems highly probable. Holland's second Spider-Man film, Spider-Man: Far From Home, also debuted shortly after Avengers: Endgame in 2019.

The cast of Spider-Man 4 remains uncertain, with Holland being the only confirmed returnee. However, Holland recently mentioned that he and his partner and Spider-Man co-star, Zendaya, have read the script for the new movie. She is likely to reprise her role as MJ, despite her character's memory of Peter Parker being erased during No Way Home. 'I read [the Spider-Man 4 script] three weeks ago and it really ignited my passion,' Holland said. 'Zendaya and I sat down, read it together, and we were at times jumping around the living room like, 'This is a real movie worthy of the fans' respect.' But there are a few things we need to sort out before we can really get it going.'

Holland later appeared on The Tonight Show earlier this week and confirmed that Spider-Man 4 will start filming in England in mid-2025.
