1047 Games showcased more of its upcoming free-to-play FPS, Splitgate 2, at The Game Awards. The latest gameplay trailer offers a detailed look at the fast-paced shooter's maps and environments, which feature a more stylish design compared to the original Splitgate.
The one-minute trailer highlights players navigating through diverse settings, including icy landscapes, futuristic sports arenas, and suburban areas adorned with cherry blossoms. Splitgate 2 is set in a future where Splitgate has become the most popular sport. Players choose from a lineup of characters, each with unique abilities, and compete for glory under one of three factions: Aeros, Meridian, or Sabrask.
The brief gameplay footage also teases a new mode. Near the end of the trailer, a snowy map with a holographic "Zone Active" sign appears, followed by Aeros faction members planting their flag on a mountaintop. This moment hints at an upcoming mode that will be unveiled during the next alpha test in early 2025.
While 1047 Games hasn't announced an official release date for Splitgate 2, the game is confirmed to launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2025. It is currently available to wishlist on Steam.
