Have you relocated to Abu Dhabi for employment and wish to bring your family along? In the UAE, residents have the ability to sponsor residence visas for their family members. If you are employed in the private sector or a free zone in Abu Dhabi, you can initiate the visa application process for your family through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP). Applications can be submitted via the TAMM website or mobile app. Below are the necessary documents, important points, and applicable fees.

Required documents include the sponsor's and sponsored person's passports, a recent color personal photo of the sponsored individual, the sponsor's Emirates ID, and a rental contract bearing the sponsor's name. The fees consist of an e-service fee of Dh28, an ICP fee of Dh22, an issuance fee of Dh100, a request fee of Dh100, and security deposits totaling Dh5025.

Key points to remember are that the passport must be valid for at least six months when applying for an entry permit. Proof of kinship and additional documents like a financial guarantee may be required by the ICP. The sponsored person does not need to be in the country to obtain a residence visa, but if they enter on an entry permit, they can stay for 60 days pending residency issuance. A husband cannot sponsor a wife under 18 years old. To sponsor a spouse, a marriage contract authenticated by the UAE Embassy or Ministry of Foreign Affairs is necessary. Proof of relationship, such as a birth certificate or marriage contract, is also required. If documents are from abroad, they must be translated into Arabic and certified by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs. If the rental contract is in the husband's name and the wife is the sponsor, a no-objection certificate from the husband is required.
