Audio streaming giant Spotify experienced a widespread outage on Sunday, affecting thousands of users, according to outage tracking website Downdetector.com.
Downdetector, which monitors outages by aggregating data from various sources including user reports, indicated that approximately 40,602 users in the United States were impacted by the service disruption.
Many affected users turned to social media platform X to share updates and express their frustration about the outage.
Despite the temporary setback, Spotify's subscriber base continued to grow, reaching 246 million paying subscribers in the second quarter of 2024.
