The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has recently finalized a significant infrastructure project in the Al Sajaah Industrial Area, which included the construction of a network of main roads totaling 9.5 km in length. The project encompasses the construction of two new roads, one of which extends from Intersection No. 8 on Al Dhaid Road to the Al Sajaah area. This particular road features two additional lanes, measuring 2.2 km in length and 7.4 meters in width, along with a 12-meter-wide central median. Safety enhancements include four pedestrian crossings equipped with traffic signals. To facilitate better traffic movement, especially for trucks and commercial vehicles, two U-turns and six slip roads have been incorporated at strategic roundabouts in the Al Sajaah Industrial Area. Furthermore, six public bus stops have been established on both sides of the road, and parking facilities for nearby mosques have been provided, offering a total of 144 parking spaces.
Yousef Khamis Al Othmani, Chairman of SRTA, also outlined the construction of a new road with a single carriageway featuring two lanes in each direction, linking the ninth intersection on Al Dhaid Road to the Hudaybiya district. This 3.8 km road includes asphalt shoulders, a protective barrier for vehicles, and the foundation for lighting poles. In the Al Sajaah Industrial Area, the project continues with the construction of single carriageways, each with two lanes in each direction, measuring 7.3 meters in width and extending 3.5 km. These roads are designed to ensure a smooth and continuous flow of vehicles, with controlled access points connecting to the main road.
