Oh Rocky... Sylvester Stallone recently referred to Donald Trump as the “second George Washington” and likened him to Rocky Balboa following his election victory last week. Trump achieved a sweeping win over Democratic nominee and Vice President Kamala Harris, marking the first time a Republican has secured the popular vote since George W. Bush. The 78-year-old actor made these remarks while introducing Trump at the America First Policy Institute Gala held at the Mar-A-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida.

“We’re in the presence of a truly mythical character,” Stallone said of Trump. “I love mythology. And this individual does not exist on this planet. Nobody in the world could have accomplished what he did, so I’m in awe.” According to Stallone, this awe places Trump alongside George Washington in terms of protecting the United States. He further added, “When George Washington defended his country, he had no idea that he was going to change the world. Without him, imagine what the world would look like. Guess what? We got the second George Washington.”

Stallone has a history of supporting Republican politicians and has also donated to Democrats, including Joe Biden. However, he remained relatively quiet during the 2016 and 2020 election cycles. In 2016, he told Variety, “I love Donald Trump,” but also noted, “There are certain people like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Babe Ruth, that are larger than life. But I don't know how that translates to running the world.” Stallone now joins a select group of entertainment A-listers who support Trump, including Kid Rock, Hulk Hogan, Zachary Levi, Caitlyn Jenner, and Mel Gibson.
