Sturge & Toth has unveiled a new superyacht design, the Gladius 52 Crossover Performance Yacht. This 52-metre vessel is meticulously engineered for extensive exploration across both the northern and southern hemispheres. The exterior design, crafted by the shipyard's in-house team, boasts a dynamic profile inspired by the automotive industry. Renderings depict the yacht enveloped in floor-to-ceiling glass on the upper deck and main deck aft, featuring an exposed tender storage space and a distinctive "cut-out" lower deck private bay area.
The interior styling embraces a contemporary aesthetic, achieved through a palette of neutral colours that are accentuated by natural light. The designer emphasizes that the layout will prioritize "maximum comfort at sea." At this stage, customization options are available to tailor the yacht to the owner's preferences. Accommodation is designed for up to 14 guests, including four VIP suites, double, and twin rooms. The master suite offers a forward area with elevated ceilings, a skylight, and a spacious sofa, complemented by a Jacuzzi, side dive board, and breakfast area. Guests can also access the bow's "dolphin-watching" area.
The main deck is conceived as a "multifunctional" space, capable of transforming into a touch-and-go helipad or an exposed tender storage area. The design proposal includes an alfresco sky lounge on the bridge deck, providing access to the sundeck above, which features a Jacuzzi, bar, dining, and lounge area. An additional stairway leads to the eagle's nest near the mast, offering panoramic views 11 metres above sea level. Other onboard amenities include a wet bar, sauna, gym, and fold-down balconies.
The Gladius 52 is anticipated to achieve a top speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 10 knots, equipped with stabilizers for a smooth journey. Key specifications include a draft of less than 2.5 metres and an 8.7-metre beam.
