Salem Saeed Ghafan Al Jabri, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Security and Military Affairs, affirmed that the Sudanese army targeted the headquarters of the head of the UAE mission in Khartoum, causing significant damage to the building and its surroundings. This act constitutes a clear breach of the fundamental principle of the inviolability of diplomatic premises, as well as international conventions and norms, particularly the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

Al Jabri highlighted the availability of photographs and evidence that unequivocally demonstrate the targeting of the headquarters, thereby discrediting the misleading narrative put forth by the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Sudanese Armed Forces. This narrative is an attempt to evade legal and moral responsibility for the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Sudan due to the ongoing conflict. The Sudanese authorities are misleading the international community and diverting attention from the suffering of the Sudanese people, while evading the obligations imposed by international efforts to resolve this protracted conflict, in which the UAE, alongside its partners, is actively contributing to achieve a peaceful resolution.

Al Jabri emphasized that the denial and insistence by the Sudanese side on making false accusations against others, without taking responsibility, reflects a blatant disregard for the suffering of the Sudanese people and diverts attention from their legitimate aspirations for stability and prosperity. The false claims and baseless accusations against the UAE have persisted for over nine months, despite facts that disprove these agendas.

Al Jabri also urged United Nations experts to review the evidence and assess the damage caused by the attack. In this regard, he expressed gratitude and appreciation to over 100 countries and several international organizations that strongly condemned this cowardly attack and expressed solidarity with the UAE in the face of this malicious targeting.
