Bollywood actor Sunny Deol has announced his involvement in the sequel to Border, titled Border 2, 27 years after the release of the original film. Deol shared this news on Instagram on Thursday through a video where he states: '27 saal pehle ek fauji ne vada kiya tha ki vo vapas aayega. Ussi vaade ko poora karne, hindustan ki mitti ko apna salaam kehne, aa raha hai [Twenty-seven years ago, a soldier made a promise that he would return. To fulfill that promise, to salute the soil of India, he is coming].' The post is shared by Sunny Deol (@iamsunnydeol). Border 2 is scripted by Nidhi Dutta and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, with Anurag Singh as the director. The film is said to be set during the same period as the original, the India-Pakistan Battle of Longewala in 1971. Filming is anticipated to commence in October.
