Tabu, known for her remarkable performances throughout her career, took a nostalgic journey on Wednesday to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the critically acclaimed political crime thriller, Haider. She shared a video from the movie on Instagram, featuring scenes of her character Ghazala Meer alongside Shahid Kapoor, Kay Kay Menon, Irrfan Khan, and Shraddha Kapoor, among others.
In her post, she wrote, "#Haider Oct 2, 2014. A decade of all that followed..Thank you." Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, Haider is an adaptation of Shakespeare's Hamlet. The film follows the story of a young man (Kapoor) who returns to Kashmir after his father's disappearance. He discovers that his father has been imprisoned by security agents for sheltering militants and that his mother is in a relationship with his uncle. The intense conflict between mother and son escalates as they grapple with the news of the father's death. Haider then sets out to avenge his father's murder after learning of his uncle's guilt.
Tabu played the role of Ghazala, a conflicted wife caught between her idealistic husband and her opportunistic brother-in-law. The film was released in theaters on October 2, 2014, and there has been no news of a re-release as of now. Currently, Tabu is preparing for her role in the international series Dune: Prophecy.
