TABUK: Prince Sultan International Airport in Tabuk is significantly contributing to Saudi Arabia’s transportation expansion, with a notable 25 percent increase in flight operations.
This growth underscores the region’s alignment with Vision 2030, emphasizing improved logistics, connectivity, and sustainability. During a recent visit, Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics Services Saleh Al-Jasser confirmed that Tabuk is undergoing substantial development, supporting the broader goals of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy.
The minister highlighted that the escalation in airport activities—including an increase in both flight numbers and the variety of domestic and international routes—indicates continued progress in the years ahead. Launched in 2021, Saudi Arabia’s transport and logistics strategy aims to position the country as a global logistics hub connecting three continents.
The strategy, integral to Vision 2030, seeks to upgrade all transport services. It involves an investment of over $266.7 billion by 2030, with $53.3 billion already allocated. Al-Jasser also noted the region’s advanced road infrastructure, built to international standards, designed to manage the expanding population and economic activity while ensuring safety and efficiency.
Acknowledging the significant advancements in Tabuk’s transport sector, the minister expressed gratitude to the Kingdom’s leadership for their continuous efforts to enhance services across various sectors, particularly transportation. He emphasized that these initiatives are not only addressing current needs but are also aligned with future objectives, especially in improving supply chain efficiency and supporting both domestic and international logistics networks.
The minister further stressed the importance of environmental sustainability in transportation, promoting eco-friendly solutions and integrating cutting-edge technologies. Al-Jasser also recognized the leadership of Tabuk Gov. Prince Fahd bin Sultan, commending his unwavering support for regional development projects and his efforts to improve transport services for residents and visitors.
He praised the robust collaboration between regional authorities and the Ministry of Transport, which has been crucial in achieving common goals. During his visit, the minister engaged in discussions with members of the Tabuk Chamber of Commerce, exploring avenues for enhanced private sector collaboration to further the NTLS objectives. He also met with local residents to gather their perspectives, suggestions, and priorities concerning the region’s transport and logistics infrastructure.
