Afghanistan's Taliban government expressed optimism on Wednesday, anticipating a "new chapter" in its relationship with the United States following Donald Trump's presidential election victory. The government is hopeful that the incoming Trump administration "will adopt realistic measures to foster tangible progress in the bilateral relations between the two nations, paving the way for a fresh start in their interactions," according to foreign ministry spokesman Abdul Qahar Balkhi, who shared this sentiment on X.
