Pop megastar Taylor Swift broke her silence on Wednesday regarding the cancellation of three Vienna concerts due to an alleged suicide attack plot, expressing that the incident instilled in her a profound sense of 'fear' and 'guilt.'

'Having our Vienna shows cancelled was devastating. The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many had planned on coming to those shows,' the American singer stated in a post on social media platform Instagram.

The Vienna concerts, which were part of the European leg of Swift's record-breaking 'Eras' tour, were cancelled following warnings from authorities about a terror plot by Daesh sympathisers. Police have arrested three suspects in connection with the alleged threat, with the United States contributing intelligence to aid in the investigation.

The primary suspect, a 19-year-old Austrian with North Macedonian heritage, reportedly confessed to intending to execute an attack using explosives and knives, according to the head of the Austrian domestic intelligence agency (DSN), Omar Haijawi-Pirchner.

In her social media post, Swift expressed her gratitude towards the authorities, stating, 'I was also so grateful to the authorities because thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives. I was heartened by the love and unity I saw in the fans who banded together.'

The European leg of Swift's sold-out tour commenced in Paris in May and has included stops in Sweden, Portugal, Spain, Britain, Ireland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, and Poland. It concluded on Tuesday with five shows at London's Wembley stadium.
