Taylor Swift is set to conclude the European segment of her milestone Eras tour in London on Tuesday, attracting admirers from all corners for the final chance to witness her highly praised performance on the continent. The American songstress resumed her engagements at London's Wembley Stadium last week, delivering five shows after her Vienna concerts were scrapped due to a thwarted terrorist plot. Many of the 195,000 disheartened fans in Vienna quickly secured tickets for the London shows on secondary markets, where prices soared up to ten times the original value.
The Eras tour, which has surpassed the $1 billion mark in earnings, features all 11 of Swift's studio albums in distinct segments. Both Swift's performance and the production of the show have garnered critical acclaim. Attendees at Wembley, adorned in sequins, cowboy hats, and adorned with friendship bracelets eager for exchanges, encountered rigorous security screenings. Despite assurances from British police that the Vienna incident would not affect the Wembley events, the stadium was heavily guarded. The practice of 'Tay-gating,' congregating outside a Swift concert without a ticket, which was seen in large numbers in Munich last month, has been prohibited to mitigate uncontrolled risks around the venue.
Marie Wright, 48, from Limerick, Ireland, secured tickets on a resale platform on Monday and jetted to London on Tuesday with Aoife McCarthy, her daughter’s 15-year-old best friend. “She’s leaving Europe, so we had to be here for the last night,” McCarthy expressed. “Her songs carry deep meanings and poetic elements,” Wright noted. The tour will resume in the United States in October and culminate in Vancouver, Canada, in December.
