Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag expressed disappointment with his team's performance in Wednesday's 1-1 Europa League draw against FC Twente, stating that they failed to maintain their intensity and should have secured the victory before Twente equalized. Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen scored for United in the first half at Old Trafford but was also responsible for Twente's equalizer in the 68th minute. Bart van Rooij's strong run into United's half was stopped by a superb tackle from Manuel Ugarte, but the rebound fell to Eriksen, whose lapse in concentration allowed Dutch striker Sam Lammers to seize the ball and score.

"We kept them alive, we were 1-0 up, controlling the game," Ten Hag told reporters. "You have to be consistent and keep going in the second half, we dropped the level and gave the goal away." He emphasized that the team did not finish off the match as they should have, which allowed Twente to stay in the game and ultimately capitalize on a mistake.

While Eriksen's error was costly, Ten Hag highlighted that the entire team shared responsibility for the equalizer. "The goal, it's (a) team (mistake), a player of Twente can dribble through almost the whole pitch, or half the pitch, without stopping," he added. "That is not acceptable, we can't give a goal away like this. We have seen, again, you have to keep going for the whole game; once you are 1-0 up you have to keep going and go for the second (goal)."

In other Europa League matches, Boulaye Dia scored twice and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru added another in the first half to give Lazio a commanding 3-0 win over Dynamo Kyiv in Hamburg. Nice and Real Sociedad played to a 1-1 draw, with Ander Barrenetxea putting the Basque side ahead before Pablo Rosario equalized for Nice. Turkish champions Galatasaray secured a 3-1 home win over Greece's PAOK, thanks to an own goal by Abdul Rahman Baba and strikes from Yunus Akgun and Mauro Icardi, with Giannis Konstantelias scoring for the visitors. In an early match, Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt held on for a 3-2 home victory against FC Porto, despite playing with 10 men from the 51st minute, thanks to a brace from Jens Petter Hauge.
