The Tesla Cybertruck, adorned in eye-catching green and white, has been a standout addition to the Dubai Police's luxury patrol fleet since its introduction in June. This distinctive vehicle continues to captivate onlookers wherever it appears. By engaging with officers and snapping photos, locals and tourists alike have forged a unique bond with the Dubai Police. Although not utilized for traffic enforcement, the Cybertruck is primarily assigned to enhance public security, with officers readily addressing queries, especially in tourist hotspots.
Khaleej Times had the exclusive opportunity to explore the vehicle and its features. Residents frequently approached the Dubai Police officers, eager to capture images with the Cybertruck. "Whenever the Cybertruck is on the streets, people inevitably stop to take pictures," shared First Lieutenant Abudallah Al Marzooqi from the Tourist Police Department. "They consistently approach us with questions about the vehicle, and it's evident that it instills both security and excitement among the public," he added.
In June, the Dubai Police expanded their fleet with the Tesla Cybertruck, joining an elite collection of the world's most luxurious and fastest cars. These vehicles can often be seen at popular tourist destinations, hotels, malls, and areas like City Walk and JBR. The Dubai Police's supercar fleet is renowned, featuring high-performance vehicles such as the Lamborghini Aventador, Audi R8, Bentley Continental GT, McLaren MP4-12C, and even a Bugatti Veyron. Now, the Tesla Cybertruck has become a favorite among the crowd.
"The Cybertruck is not just about power and performance," noted Al Marzooqi. "Its unique design and advanced features contribute to a robust sense of safety and security for both tourists and residents." The Cybertruck's angular design is crafted from ultra-hard 30X cold-rolled stainless steel, offering exceptional durability and protection. Tesla's Armour Glass technology ensures the windows are highly resistant to impacts. With a driving range of up to 340 miles and the capability to tow up to 11,000 pounds, the Cybertruck is well-equipped for law enforcement duties. Additionally, its ability to accelerate from 0 to 60kmph in just 4.3 seconds allows for swift emergency responses.
However, the Cybertruck's capabilities extend beyond raw performance. It is also equipped with Tesla's Autopilot advanced driver-assistance system, providing the Dubai Police with cutting-edge autonomous driving technology. "The Cybertruck will be instrumental in our mission to maintain a strong security presence in tourist areas," stated Al Marzooqi. "Its unique design and advanced features will ensure that visitors to Dubai feel safe and secure." A tourist at the scene approached officer Al Marzooqi, expressing his fascination with the car and inquiring if his two children could take pictures. Al Marzooqi warmly welcomed the guests and engaged in conversation. "It's very cool. My kids were initially scared to approach the police car but were very curious. They were thrilled to talk to the officer and take pictures," the tourist remarked.
