Since its inception in 2014, The Game Awards has not only honored the gaming achievements of the past year but also offered a glimpse into the future through various trailers and game announcements. As the event approaches its 10th anniversary, anticipation is building for what’s in store.

Host Geoff Keighley and The Game Awards team have hinted at what’s to come, with participation from numerous game companies across the industry.
The official livestream for The Game Awards 2024 will start with a 30-minute pre-show at 4:30 PM PT / 7:30 PM ET, followed by the main event at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET. Awards will be presented in 30 categories, including Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, and more, spanning both general gaming and esports.
The event will be streamed live on YouTube, Twitch, and other social media platforms like Facebook, TikTok, X, as well as on GameSpot. Additionally, The Game Awards usually selects official co-streamers from Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook Live. Applications to become a co-streamer are open now, with the list of selected channels to be announced closer to the event.
Before the main event, GameSpot will host its own pre-show, GameSpot’s Countdown to The Game Awards, starting at 2:30 PM PT / 5:30 PM ET. The two-hour event will feature interviews with developers, celebrities, and influencers, leading directly into the official broadcast.
Several notable figures from gaming and entertainment are confirmed to appear, including Ella Purnell from Fallout, Snoop Dogg, and more. The official social media accounts for The Game Awards and Keighley have already teased some of the attendees.
This year’s show will blend award presentations with exciting game announcements, much like previous years. However, with the 10th anniversary milestone, rumors suggest that some of the reveals could be particularly significant. Stay tuned for more updates as the event approaches.
