Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz experienced a tumultuous love affair with the daughter of a Chinese Communist Party official while teaching in Foshan, a relationship that nearly led her to suicide, according to The Post.

Jenna Wang, 59, recounted her passionate 1989 romance with Walz, who was then a young English instructor in China, in a phone interview with The Post on Monday. Wang revealed that she had deeply fallen for the now-Minnesota governor.

Wang had anticipated that their intense relationship would culminate in a marriage proposal. However, the affair ended in a breakup that left her contemplating suicide.

The Daily Mail initially reported on Wang's allegations, stating that she left China for Italy just a few years after her ill-fated romance with Walz. The Harris-Walz campaign has not yet responded to a request for comment.
