A funeral service was held for Tito Jackson at the Southern California cemetery where his brother Michael Jackson and his father Joe Jackson are interred. Family and friends gathered on Monday to pay their respects to the singer and guitarist, who was a member of the Jackson 5 and the Jacksons. The service took place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, about seven weeks after Tito's passing at the age of 70.
Images from various media outlets revealed that attendees included siblings Marlon and La Toya Jackson, as well as Michael's children, Paris and Bigi Jackson. Following the main service, a more intimate family ceremony was held at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, where Tito was laid to rest.
Tito Jackson's death marks the second loss among the nine Jackson siblings, following Michael Jackson's death in 2009 at the age of 50. Tito was the third child of Joe and Katherine Jackson. His mother, Katherine, who is now 94, survives him. Michael Jackson was laid to rest 15 years ago in a mausoleum at the Glendale cemetery, which is also the final resting place of Elizabeth Taylor and Walt Disney.
In related news, the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic, titled 'Michael,' which was originally scheduled for release next April, has been postponed. According to Deadline, the highly anticipated film from director Antoine Fuqua has been rescheduled to 3 October to align with the awards season. Limited details about the film have been disclosed, but it will chronicle the life and career of Michael Jackson, with his nephew Jafar Jackson playing the lead role. The only image released so far shows Jaafar Jackson emulating one of Michael's most iconic looks.
Other cast members include Colman Domingo as Joe Jackson, Miles Teller as manager John Branca, Kat Graham as Diana Ross, and Kendrick Sampson as Quincy Jones, who co-produced Michael Jackson's legendary 'Thriller' album and passed away earlier this week.
