Torrential rains have inundated the region, with Saudi Arabia's Makkah city experiencing severe flooding in its valleys. The city has been under a red alert for heavy rainfall, dust storms, and thunder for several days, according to the meteorological department. The Civil Defence in Makkah is closely monitoring the weather and rain conditions. A video from Storm Centre shows camels, cattle, and materials being swept away by flash floods in Al-Jumum, Makkah, on Tuesday. Authorities have advised residents to avoid low-lying areas, pools of water, and valley bottoms during rainfall and flash floods.

In Ardiyat, a valley overflowed due to heavy rains, with a cloudy grey sky contrasting against the mountain backdrop. Despite the heavy showers and strong winds, pilgrims in Makkah continue to perform Umrah, surrounded by the Holy Kaaba. In other areas, heavy rainfall has caused water to overflow onto roads, affecting motorists.

Similar conditions are affecting Oman, where heavy rains and thunderstorms have led to rescue missions, including one in which a child was tragically swept away in a wadi. The UAE is also experiencing rain in some areas, with forecasts predicting showers until Thursday, August 8.
