At least 20 individuals were tragically killed in a massive fire at a gaming zone in Rajkot, Gujarat, on Saturday. The fire erupted at TRP Game Zone, as confirmed by Rajkot Commissioner of Police, Raju Bhargava, who stated that the fire is now under control and rescue operations are ongoing.

Commissioner Bhargava added that around 20 bodies have been recovered and sent for post-mortem examination, with a further investigation to follow after the completion of rescue and dousing operations. Yuvraj Singh Solanki owns the gaming zone, and an investigation for negligence and the resulting deaths will be initiated.

The exact cause of the fire remains unclear as of now. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has instructed immediate rescue and relief operations to be carried out by the civic body and Rajkot district administration. Additionally, arrangements for the immediate treatment of the injured have been prioritized.

Following the fire, the temporary structure of the commercial establishment collapsed, trapping numerous individuals. Firefighters and officials reached the scene promptly to commence rescue efforts, despite facing difficulties due to the collapsed structure and challenging firefighting conditions.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his distress over the Rajkot fire mishap, offering prayers for the injured and extending support to those affected by the local administration.
