Under the visionary leadership of Dr. KP Hussain, the Founder and Chairman of Fathima Healthcare Group, the company was established in 1997 with a mission to revolutionize healthcare accessibility in the UAE. Today, FMC continues to innovate and lead in providing comprehensive, budget-friendly healthcare solutions.

As a medical professional, Dr. Hussain's career motto was to create something unique that would contribute to new developments in the field of medicine or the healthcare industry. This vision led to the incorporation of Fathima Healthcare Group in 1997. During his practice in the UAE, he observed the struggles of the blue-collar community in accessing healthcare due to financial constraints, which deeply affected him and sparked the idea of affordable medical insurance. Extensive research, supported by Lloyds London and Thaha actuaries, was submitted to the Dubai Health Authority and the Department of Health (DOH). Interactions with corporate government organizations, insurance companies, and medical service providers followed, leading to the establishment of the first medical insurance Third Party Administrator (TPA), FMC Network UAE.

New strategic initiatives introduced for low-income groups include expanding the network of medical service providers, ensuring all specialties are accessible, and conducting wellness programs and medical camps to raise health and safety awareness. Dr. Hussain is satisfied with FMC's overall performance, noting significant progress in both business and service to the insured population over the past 27 years.

FMC plans to expand its presence in the GCC and some European countries, focusing on extending affordable healthcare to the elderly, especially in light of the UAE's Golden Visa policy. The company aims to leverage technology for process automation, fraud detection, and seamless integration with various medical service providers to sustain growth.

Despite challenges such as rising medical costs and complex claims management, FMC remains committed to its mission of providing cost-effective, comprehensive, and affordable healthcare for all. The company was recognized for its financial controls in claims adjudication by the Insurance Authority in 2020.
