The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security has cautioned truck owners who neglect to register their vehicles in the National Truck and Shipment Tracking System, warning them of substantial fines. Unregistered truck owners will be subject to a fine of Dh1,000 for the initial month, with an additional Dh100 for each subsequent month of non-compliance, capped at a maximum penalty of Dh5,000.
The National Truck and Shipment Tracking System, overseen by the General Administration of Customs, is designed to strengthen customs security, promote supply chain compliance, and enhance the surveillance of truck movements nationwide. This system employs electronic tracking devices installed at ports to offer real-time tracking of goods from entry to final delivery.
The list of administrative fines encompasses seven violations, each with varying penalties based on the nature of the violation. This includes a Dh500 monthly fine for companies that fail to renew their registration within 60 days of expiry or update their data within 30 days of any changes, up to a maximum of Dh2,500. Providing inaccurate or false information during registration can lead to a fine of Dh5,000 to Dh10,000 for transportation owners. Additionally, fines ranging from Dh1,000 to Dh5,000 will be imposed on truck owners or drivers who damage, remove, or tamper with tracking devices or open shipments prematurely.
Deviating from specified routes, drivers, or tractor heads without informing the authorities will result in a fine of Dh500 to Dh2,000. Unloading goods before the allowed period at their final destination will incur a penalty of Dh5,000 to Dh10,000. The list of affected parties includes owners of freight transport vehicles, transit trucks, hazardous materials carriers, and any other specified trucks. Penalties also apply to failures in renewing registration, updating data, or providing accurate information in applications.
Truck owners are urged to visit the registration website at (https://register.entsts.ae/user/login?ReturnUrl=%2f) and complete the necessary steps, including scheduling an appointment to install the required tracking devices on their vehicles.
