Donald Trump's campaign has increased the armed security presence at its locations and advised staff in Washington and West Palm Beach to avoid the office on Sunday, following the former president's shooting and minor injury at a rally, according to a Politico report citing a memo.
The memo also instructed campaign staff not to publicly comment on the shooting in Butler, Pennsylvania. 'We also urge you to recognize the political polarization in this heated election,' the campaign stated in an internal memo quoted by Politico. The campaign confirmed that Trump, who sustained an ear injury, is in good health and 'great spirits.'
Separately, ABC News reported on Sunday morning that security plans for the upcoming Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, starting Monday, will be reviewed in light of the Trump shooting.
