Republican nominee and former President Donald Trump stated on Thursday that billionaire and Tesla CEO Elon Musk never informed him about a planned $45 million donation to his campaign. Trump also expressed his disagreement with the mandate for electric cars, saying, "I disagree with the electric cars for everybody. You want to have a choice, and that includes electric." In an interview with Fox News, Trump emphasized his stance on consumer choice in vehicle options.
Musk, who has publicly supported Trump, clarified earlier this week that he did not commit $45 million to Trump's campaign, following a report by The Wall Street Journal this month.
