As of the latest update, Donald Trump is just one state away from securing the 270 electoral college votes needed for victory. The Republican nominee, who has faced legal challenges, is poised to become the first former President to return to the White House in over 130 years. Although Kamala Harris has not yet conceded, having delayed her scheduled address, notable figures in the entertainment industry have already started to express their reactions to the prospect of another Trump presidency.

Influential podcaster Joe Rogan, who recently endorsed Trump, shared a clip of the future president on X, writing, “WHOLE. LEE. SHIT.” Trump supporter Russell Brand declared “DONALD TRUMP WON,” while Piers Morgan tweeted a video of himself saying, “the Trump train is steaming to victory,” captioned “I had a feeling...”. Elon Musk, who received several mentions in Trump’s victory speech this morning, was referred to as a “genius” multiple times. Musk tweeted a picture of himself with a kitchen sink in the Oval Office, a nod to when he entered his new Twitter office, with the caption “Let that sink in.”

Rapper Cardi B, who recently appeared at Kamala Harris' rally, was devastated by the results and unleashed a string of expletives on Instagram Live when asked to attend Trump’s inauguration. “I swear to god I'm gonna f**k you up, get away from me! I'm sick of you! Burn your f**king hats motherf****r,” she exclaimed. “I'm really sad. I swear to god I'm really sad.” Speaking about Harris, she added, “No matter what, I know that she's probably emotional right now. I know there's probably a lot going on in her mind and I know she's not listening to this, but she will eventually see it. I just hope she knows no matter what happens tonight, millions of people are proud of her. Women around the world are proud of her. Women of colour are proud of her.”

Director Adam McKay (The Big Short, Don’t Look Up) commented, “Who would have guessed lying about Biden’s cognitive health for 2 yrs, refusing to do an open convention for a new nominee, never mentioning public healthcare & embracing fracking, the Cheneys & a yr long slaughter of children in Gaza wouldn’t be a winning strategy?” Riverdale star Lili Reinhart said, “I cannot fathom the feeling of the women who came forward about their sexual assault at the hands of Trump. Seeing millions of people vote for their abuser. My heart absolutely breaks for these women. I believe you, and I am so sorry.” Actress and singer Bette Midler shared a quote from the late US journalist and satirist H. L. Mencken: “On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.” Meanwhile, TV’s Countdown dictionary queen Susie Dent shared her word of the day on X: “Word of the day is ‘recrudescence’ (17th century): the return of something terrible after a time of reprieve.”
