Trump Picks Fox News' Pete Hegseth for Defense Secretary

President-elect Donald Trump surprised political analysts on Tuesday evening by selecting Fox News personality Pete Hegseth for the position of secretary of defense.

Hegseth, a former Army National Guard captain with service in Iraq and Afghanistan, has been associated with the cable news network since 2014, most notably as a co-host of “Fox & Friends Weekend.”
