President-elect Donald Trump has chosen Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) to be his Attorney General, marking a surprising decision. “It is my great honor to announce that Congressman Matt Gaetz, of Florida, is hereby nominated to be the Attorney General of the United States,” Trump stated in a Truth Social post.

“Matt is a deeply talented and relentless attorney, educated at the William & Mary College of Law, who has made a name for himself in Congress by advocating for much-needed reforms at the Department of Justice. Few issues in America are more critical than putting an end to the partisan manipulation of our justice system.”

“Matt will put an end to weaponized government, safeguard our borders, dismantle criminal networks, and rebuild the badly damaged trust and confidence Americans have in the Justice Department. As a member of the House Judiciary Committee, which oversees the DOJ, Matt played a pivotal role in debunking the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax and exposing widespread government corruption and manipulation. He is a staunch defender of the Constitution and the rule of law,” the Truth statement emphasized.
