This marks the 78-year-old’s first visit to the nation’s capital since his unexpected election victory over Vice President Kamala Harris. In that race, Trump became the first Republican in two decades to win the popular vote and significantly increased the Electoral College margin compared to his 2016 win against Hillary Clinton.
