A group of dedicated Trump supporters, eager to catch a glimpse of their candidate at Madison Square Garden on Sunday night, began camping outside the venue as early as Saturday to secure their spots. By midnight Sunday, around 100 of Trump's loyal followers were already seated in lawn chairs outside the iconic arena, with some arriving as early as 10 a.m. on Saturday at the intersection of 33rd Street and Sixth Avenue.
"We love Trump," Patty Vitala shared with the Post. "I love Trump, and even though it's cold, the wait is worth it. We want to ensure we get inside." Patty, 57, along with her friends, reached the Garden at 3:30 p.m. and even rented a hotel room, though they chose to stay on the street overnight to maintain their positions.
Barbara, 54, who works for a school district in Sussex, NJ, was among the first to arrive, showing up at 10 a.m. on Saturday. "I never expected to be first in line," Barbara told the Post. "I've never been to Madison Square Garden, and I thought this would be a magical event." To pass the time, she played Words With Friends.
Scott Williams, 62, traveled from Staten Island with his girlfriend, arriving at 33rd Street at 11 a.m. "I've never been to Madison Square Garden, so that's exciting," Williams said, adding, "I've never voted in my life until this year." He plans to spend the night on the street in sleeping bags, considering it a better option than paying $500 to $600 for a hotel.
Debbie Carrol, 69, came from Long Island to see the former president. "He's home. This is home. They should give him a good welcoming," she told the Post. "I don't plan on sleeping; there's too much adrenaline." The Garden's gates will open for the rally at noon, with the event scheduled to start at 5 p.m. Other speakers include Senator J.D. Vance, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, Elon Musk, Rudy Giuliani, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Tucker Carlson, and Lee Greenwood.
