Turtle Beach is launching a modular wireless Xbox controller named the Stealth Pivot, set to release on November 26, with preorders currently available on Amazon. Priced at $130, the Stealth Pivot stands out as a budget-friendly option compared to Turtle Beach's Stealth Ultra ($200) and other customizable controllers like Victrix's modular model ($180). Although the reversible modules are the Stealth Pivot’s standout feature, the controller also offers various customization options, including adjustable trigger and thumbstick sensitivity, four remappable microswitch buttons, adjustable trigger locks, and both digital and analog modes for the D-pad.

The Stealth Pivot includes additional noteworthy features, such as a mini-LED display used to configure up to five custom control profiles, adjust settings, and show social notifications or alerts. It also supports rumble and various Turtle Beach audio enhancement features like EQ presets and chat volume mixing. The controller can connect via 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth 5.2, or wired USB to Xbox consoles, PC, or mobile devices. In wireless mode, it provides up to 20 hours of battery life and supports quick charging via USB-C.

Turtle Beach has incorporated several features from the Stealth Ultra, which launched last holiday season for $200, into the Stealth Pivot. While the Stealth Ultra utilizes microswitches for all its buttons, the Pivot appears to limit microswitches to the remappable back buttons. Additionally, the Stealth Ultra includes a carrying case and charging stand, features not found in the Pivot. Until we can test the Pivot, we cannot compare its build quality to the Ultra, which impressed us in our previous tests. However, the Pivot's rotating modules are likely more significant for many Xbox and PC users than microswitches and carrying cases.

For those seeking microswitch buttons, the recently released Razer Wolverine V3 Pro is now recommended over the Stealth Ultra. Razer's first wireless controller for Xbox and PC, priced at $200, offers a superior overall Elite Series 2 alternative to the Stealth Ultra. The Stealth Pivot is the newest modular controller on the market, but it is not alone. One notable competitor is the Victrix Pro BFG, one of our favorite controllers for Xbox and PS5. The Xbox model is available for $180 on Amazon, while the PS5 version is discounted to $155 (originally $180). Special edition variants based on Call of Duty and Tekken are also available.

For PC users specifically interested in a modular controller, it's worth noting that both the PlayStation and Xbox versions of the Pro BFG are available.
