Two workers lost their lives and three others sustained injuries when the roof of a school under construction in Kalba City, Sharjah, collapsed, according to Sharjah Police on Sunday, September 8.

Colonel Dr. Ali Al-Khamoudi, the head of the Eastern Region Police Department, disclosed that upon receiving the report earlier today, the emergency teams promptly provided first aid to the injured, who included individuals of Arab and Asian descent. The injuries ranged from mild to moderate.

The bodies of the two deceased workers were removed from the accident site. Sharjah Police confirmed that all specialized teams were dispatched to the scene, including the Sharjah Civil Defense Authority, Kalba Comprehensive Police Station, Crime Scene Team, National Ambulance, and Kalba City Municipality.

Al-Khamoudi noted that the specialized teams had thoroughly cleared the area and administered first aid to the injured before transferring them to the hospital. In a social media update, Sharjah Police stated that investigations are underway to ascertain the details of the accident.
