Abu Dhabi Police captured two significant traffic accidents on their road cameras, both attributed to tyre bursts while driving. The police released a 45-second video clip on Monday, detailing two separate incidents of tyre blowouts. In the initial 20 seconds, a minivan is seen in the fast lane when its tyres suddenly burst, causing the vehicle to swerve and narrowly avoid another car. Despite the driver's attempt to regain control, the force of the blowout sent the minivan crashing into a barrier, resulting in a spinning tumble from the fast lane to the right lane.

The second segment, starting at the 21-second mark, shows a minitruck in the right lane experiencing a sudden tyre burst. This incident led to the loss of control, with the vehicle veering across multiple lanes before crashing into a barrier. Abu Dhabi police emphasized the importance of checking tyres for any damage or cracks that could lead to major accidents, particularly during summer due to high temperatures. They also advised drivers to use tyres that meet their vehicle's specifications, considering factors like tolerance to temperature, load capacity, and suitability for long journeys, especially during travel abroad.

Authorities highlighted that driving with damaged tyres is a punishable offense, incurring a Dh500 fine, 4 black points, and a one-week vehicle impoundment. A recent report indicated that most road accidents in the UAE are due to traffic violations, with a 3% increase in fatalities attributed to 'misbehaviour' among motorists. The Ministry of Interior's recent 'open data' on road safety statistics for 2023 revealed 352 road fatalities across the country.
