As violent riots persist across various towns and cities in the UK, the UAE has urged its citizens residing in the country to practice extreme vigilance. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also cautioned UAE nationals against traveling to areas affected by riots and protests, and to steer clear of large assemblies. These anti-immigration protests in the UK were ignited by a mass stabbing incident that claimed the lives of three young girls in Southport. The unrest escalated when anti-immigration protesters targeted a hotel accommodating asylum seekers in Rotherham. In a supplementary advisory, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised citizens to follow the safety directives issued by the UAE Embassy in London. The Ministry also encouraged citizens to maintain contact with the UAE Embassy in London and to dial 097180024 or 0097180044444 in case of emergencies or if they perceive any imminent threats. Meanwhile, back in the UAE, numerous expatriates have altered their travel itineraries, while others are urgently reaching out to their contacts in the UK to ensure their safety.
