During the UAE President's official visit to Russia, President Sheikh Mohamed and Vladimir Putin, the President of the Russian Federation, jointly inaugurated the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Education Centre at the Primakov School in Moscow. The two leaders attended a presentation that underscored the centre's curriculum and its role in promoting collaboration in areas like Arabic language education, history, culture, arts, and science and technology.
The presentation also detailed the Primakov School's mission, which is to cultivate the intellectual and creative potential of its students from a young age. The school extends scholarships to gifted students from around 50 regions across Russia. Dr. Sergey Kravtsov, Russia's Minister of Education, outlined the school's goals, emphasizing the development of a generation of high achievers and the nurturing of their talents.
Meanwhile, Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Jaber, the UAE Ambassador to the Russian Federation, highlighted the strong bilateral cooperation between the two nations, particularly in education. He noted that the centre was named in honor of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, 'Mother of the Nation,' Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), in recognition of her global contributions to education and knowledge-sharing.
The inauguration of the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Education Centre in Moscow symbolizes the robust ties between the UAE and Russia. The two leaders toured the centre, engaging with staff and educational teams, and expressed their support for this initiative, which reflects their shared commitment to enhancing cooperation.
During their visit to a classroom, Sheikh Mohamed and Putin listened to students speaking in Arabic about the educational opportunities provided by the centre, which align with the highest global standards. The school features plaques with quotes from the late Sheikh Zayed and Putin on education and nurturing future talent.
The Primakov School in Moscow is named after the late Yevgeny Primakov, a former Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Russia, who is highly respected. In 2022, the Russian School in Abu Dhabi, in partnership with the Primakov School, was inaugurated as the first Russian school in the UAE.
