Authorities in the UAE have issued a reminder to private sector companies, urging them to meet their 2024 Emiratisation targets by the end of December. Starting from January 1, 2025, non-compliant firms will be subject to substantial fines.

Emiratisation policies are applicable to establishments with 50 or more employees. These companies are legally mandated to achieve a 2% increase in the number of Emirati employees in skilled roles by the year's end. Failure to comply will result in fines of Dh96,000 for each Emirati position not filled.

A specific group of establishments employing between 20 to 49 workers across 14 designated economic sectors are also included under Emiratisation policies. These entities must hire at least one Emirati and maintain any nationals employed before January 1, 2024. Similarly, non-compliance in this category will incur a Dh96,000 fine for each unfilled Emirati position.
