The UAE's Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has announced that there is no longer a need to request the lifting of a travel ban manually, as this will now be handled automatically upon the resolution of a case.
The MoJ revealed in a recent advisory that the steps previously required to lift a travel ban have been reduced from nine to none, as demonstrated in a brief video. Formerly, the cancellation of a travel ban necessitated the submission of clearance and supporting documents, which are now deemed unnecessary.
The ministry further stated that it will expedite the removal of travel bans, with the processing time shortened from one working day to mere minutes. This streamlined process is an integral part of the UAE's Zero Government Bureaucracy initiative, which was introduced earlier this year with the goal of enhancing federal government services by eliminating bureaucratic obstacles.
Additionally, both the judicial bodies in Abu Dhabi and Dubai have implemented automated systems for the cancellation of travel bans once any outstanding fines are paid.
