UAE has achieved a new world record with the construction of the Hollywood-style Liwa marker, which has now become the tallest landmark sign globally. Notably, it has surpassed the Hatta mountain marker in Dubai to secure the top position. The Abu Dhabi Media Office revealed the acquisition of the new Guinness World Record title on Wednesday. Situated 197 meters above sea level on a hill in the Al Dhafra region, the metal installation weighs 49 tonnes and stands at a height of 23.5m. In comparison, the Hatta sign, located on the Hajar mountains, measures 19.28 meters in height, while the US banner is 13.7m tall. The Liwa structure forms part of the series of initiatives by the Al Dhafra Region Municipality to elevate the region’s allure as a leading cultural and tourism hotspot in Abu Dhabi.
